This collection is a study of resilience, beauty, and sacred spaces in nature. This frilly white iris seems unnaturally pure, yet decadent. It reminds me of the baroque church San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane in Rome in its quiet beauty. Borromini used “unexpected combinations of curves and rectangular forms” to create a beautifully unique church. The frilly edges of this iris remind me of the white, rounded walls and intricate details on the interior of the church. While the church in Rome is not a “cathedral,” the name stuck!
