Inspiration
Within Reach is what I consider to be the origin of the series, even though it was the fourth I completed in this collection about finding belonging and a sense of purpose in nature. The painting is based on a source photo by Peter Yates that simply grabbed hold of me and wouldn’t let go. Peter’s photograph captured a moment full of life and possibility, of light and darkness, of energy and profound stillness. For me, it’s an exploration of the things we experience in life - sorrow and hope, facing life with fierceness and joy, and reaching out to grab life with both hands.
The endless push and pull of these waves are a powerful and effortless force that we as humans can enter and experience the same way as we have for generations. We are not diminished by the fact that we are finite, we are expanded and elevated for having shared in its power. We belong here and are a part of an endless, timeless power that is so simple and profound. To me, this painting feels like a moment of eternity, suspended in time that reflects all that life has to offer and is, therefore, timeless.

Please allow up to three weeks for newly purchased paintings to be varnished, set, and shipped safely. Not all works will require this turnaround time, but I appreciate your patience as I work to ensure that your artwork purchase will be beautiful for generations!
Shipping and Logistical Information
This painting will be hand delivered, stretched and ready to hang with hardware attached if purchased in the local Nashville market. I can also have it framed and shipped directly to you ready-to-hang, in or out of market and can work with you to determine the additional fees for this service. I work with an incredible framer and have picked out a beautiful, natural wood frame, which i believe complements it to perfection! Please contact me directly if you’re interested in that service, here.
For shipping outside the Nashville market, it will be removed from the stretcher bars and carefully rolled and shipped in a tube. Paintings larger than 18 x 24 inches are often removed from their stretcher bars and carefully wrapped and rolled to be shipped in a tube. This is generally considered a safer way to ship large works on canvas (and is far more economical.) It will, however, require the buyer to take the rolled artwork to a professional framer to unroll and stretch the artwork onto new stretcher bars.
